In a mass shooting in New Orleans on Bourbon Street one male is dead and 9 others are injured.
NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison told reporters at the scene that the officers arrived on the scene at 1:30 A.M. and that victims range in age from 20-37. Two victims are said to be women and eight are men. The extent of the injuries were not known at this time.
Two men at the scene were arrested for illegally carrying firearms and one of them had been shot.
Investigators were studying the crime scene near Bourbon and Canal street in the wee hours of Sunday after 10 people were shot.
Alan Morey, a New Orleans resident, who presumably witnessed the shooting said he saw numerous police and at least four ambulances arrive quickly. Many police on horseback arrived on the scene.
The shooting occurred on Bayou Classic weekend, just hours after the annual Southern vs Grambling football game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The streets were closed until about 3:00 A.M.
