The gross lack of personal responsibility and maturity in this country can sometimes be appalling, and one man’s recent ill-advised stunt in California provided a perfect example.
Anthony Booth Armer, a YouTube sensation known for his life-threatening tricks, missed his mark while jumping into a Laguna Beach hotel pool, and the gruesome result was two shattered feet, according to KCBS.
However, the 28-year-old daredevil refused to take responsibility for his own choices and instead asked his “fans” to help him pay his medical bills.
In a YouTube video posted on New Year’s Day, Armer – known on the video-sharing website as 8Booth – can be seen jumping off the rooftop of the Pacific Edge Hotel. But things didn’t go quite as planned, as he missed the pool and instead landed on the concrete edge before falling into the water, The Orange County Register reported. Pacific Edge: get it?
As of Jan. 5, the two-and-a-half minute video — which also showed Armer’s serious foot injuries — had been viewed more than 2 million times.
Now the hospitalized daredevil has been asking for money on a GoFundMe page, the Los Angeles Times reported, and while some have donated, others have criticized Armer for not considering the health consequences when he chose to do something ridiculously risky and unnecessary.
