This is surely as sign of the Apocalypse and the End Times. It is the end of the world as we know it…
Hostess Brands, LLC is breaking hearts everywhere, just as people are dealing with the blues from seeing the end of the Holidays. It is true, we all likely overate during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, so maybe it is not such a bad thing that both Hostess and the Food and Drug Administration is recommending we avoid these Twinkies. Your waistline, and your overall health, will thank you if you heed their advice.
The Twinkies in question are the Holiday Hostess Twinkies that may be contaminated with salmonella. The Hostess Company made the decision to voluntarily recall the Twinkies “out of an abundance of caution,” whatever that means.
It is thought that the confectionary coating on the Holiday White Peppermint Twinkies contains milk powder ingredients that were recalled by Valley Milk Products, LLC. We are not aware of any illnesses being reported at this time.
The recall only applies to the White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies that were sold in a box that contained nine individually wrapped cakes per box.
The UPC code is 888109111571.
If you have the affected Twinkies, you should not eat them and return them to the store you bought them for a full refund.
This horrific Twinkie recall follows a series of salmonella scares. One of the more recent one’s included macaroni and cheese:
Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the following mac & cheese cups due to a salmonella recall. Evidently, the milk powder in these cups could have been tainted with salmonella. Not a great way to start the Holidays.
- Big Win Original Macaroni and Cheese dinner, UPC code 001182258403, with best by date of 10/25/2017
- Cheese Club Express Mac Macaroni & Cheese Dinner, UPC code 004149817167, with several best by dates in October and November 2017
- Great Value Macaroni & Cheese Original Cups, UPC code 007874208249, with several best by dates in October and November 2017
- A full list of the affected best-by dates can be seen here.
The most recognizable of these brands is Great Value, which is carried by Walmart. Almost all Americans have bought a cup or two of Great Value over the years.
Salmonella causes a number of gastrointestinal issues for those who are in good health. For the sick, the young, or the elderly, the problems can be far more serious.
Do yourself and your family a huge service and buy a different brand this winter!
