Donald Trump’s business empire stretches out across the globe. Inevitably, his business will take in foreign government oney even if it’s for hotel rooms. Trump detractors have insisted he sell off his empire so he would be clean ethically. Funny liberals saw no problem with Hillary selling out the State Department for huge donations. She was planning on keeping the Clinton Foundation operating, taking in foreign money with Chelsea in charge. No liberal suggested she do otherwise.
PE-Trump had his accountant announce that any foreign government money that comes into his business will be given to the Treasury Department. Liberal media and politicians will have a hard time spinning that one into another story about how corrupt Donald Trump is.
Trump’s tax attorney Sheri Dillon made an announcement regarding possible conflicts of interest between Trump’s business dealings and running the country as President.
At first Dillon stated that Trump did not believe that paying for a hotel room would fall under the so called emoluments clause which states: “no person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress , accept of any present, Emolument, Office or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign state.”
Dillon then went on to make the announcement about Trump donating hotel profits from foreign governments to the US treasury:
Just like with conflicts of interest, he wants to do more than what the Constitution requires. So President-elect Trump has decided, and we are announcing today, that he is going to voluntarily donate all profits from foreign government payments made to his hotels to the United States Treasury. This way it is the American people who will profit.
