Mother Fights Off Attacker Despite Being Shot Five Times

Talk about a “Tiger Mom!” Do not mess with this South Carolina mother, as she is one tough woman. It seems she was shot five times by an intruder in her own home, but she still managed to continue fighting the attacker and pulled off his ski mask as she desperately tried to protect her six-year-old daughter from being raped.

The attacker, 24-year-old Nate Hunter, has received a 45-year sentence after a conviction on burglary, attempted murder, criminal sexual conduct with a minor and gun possession charges late last week.

According to prosecutors, Hunter was wearing black clothes and a ski mask over his face, broke into the home in April of 2014 and held the mother and her daughter at gunpoint and told them to undress.

The two started to take their clothes off, but then the brave woman jumped Hunter and tried to wrestle the gun away from him.

The mom ended up being shot five times, but she kept fighting Hunter to stop him from harming her daughter.

She was somehow able to take his mask and hoodie off and then he fled.

The victims staggered to a neighbor’s house and called 911.

The anonymous woman was rushed to a local hospital where she underwent surgery and survived the multiple gunshots.

The West Columbia Police Department used DNA evidence on the stocking cap he left behind to help convict Hunter.

When he was arrested, he was found with scratches down his face, an identical stocking cap and pics of a gun on his phone. He had been out on bond at the time for murder, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime charges.

At the trial, the courageous mom asked the court to jail Hunter for a long time, arguing that he had “forever stolen her daughter’s security and innocence,” according to local media sources.
