Jenna Vecchio is a big fan of keeping in shape. As such, she’s a regular visitor to the Movati Athletic Club in Orleans, Ontario. Or at least she was. The woman has taken to social media to share a tale of some treatment she received at the gym, and she thinks it’s solely because she has large breasts.
As the Daily Mail shares, staff at the club asked her to leave one day because they found her attire to be offensive. She’s posted some pics of the black tank top she was wearing that day, and she’s at a loss as to what the problem is with it.
“After asking every woman at the club who I could find on the way out if my attire offended them and they responded no, it became clear that the only ones offended were the two women supervisors working at the club today,’ she explained. ‘I pointed out to them that my shirt was no different than any other woman’s shirt. They informed me that it did not matter that due to my chest size I could not wear a tank top,” she wrote.
Her post has captured a ton of attention, and a slew of users have come to her defense. Nonetheless, the gym is standing by the decision of its staff, and they make it sound as if there’s a bit more to this story than Vecchio is letting onto.
“The Movati staff never indicated Ms. Vecchio’s style of shirt was not appropriate – it was the lack of coverage that was the issue as she exercised adjacent to other members. While in no way did we mean to embarrass Ms. Vecchio, we did feel it necessary to address the situation with her due to member discomfort. While it is unfortunate that Ms. Vecchio felt she had a negative experience, it was certainly not Movati’s intent,” a statement from the gym read in part.
