Rep Trey Gowdy: We Will Subpoena Susan Rice [VIDEO]

Rep Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox news and he was asked about Susan Rice’s refusal to testify before Congress.  Without beating around the bush or giving a non-answer as politicians are wont to do , Gowdy said point blank that he would subpoena her.  Gowdy insists her testimony is not only pertinent but absolutely necessary to determine what happened.

When it comes to testifying, there is a stark difference between republicans and democrats.  Democrats take the fifth or just refuse to show up for questioning, but when earlier this year, democrats insisted that former Trump campaign workers needed to testify, every single one of them offered to voluntarily testify.  Funny thing though, democrats now refuse to call them as witnesses.

Host Bill Hemmer asked the South Carolina Republican what he thought about Rice refusing an invitation to testify about Russia hacking and the unmasking of Trump campaign officials.

“There are other ways to invite people other than via a letter,” Gowdy asserted. “There are things called subpoenas. You shouldn’t have to use them with a former national security advisor, but if you do, you do.”

The representative from South Carolina said that Rice is a “very important witness.”

“Members of Congress don’t pick the witnesses, lawyers don’t pick witnesses…facts pick the witnesses,” he stated.

Gowdy also took a shot at Hillary who claimed that Comey cost her the election:

“I don’t think [Comey] told Secretary Clinton to have her own server. I don’t think he told her to give disingenuous answers to questions throughout the campaign. I don’t think he told Anthony Weiner to communicate via text with underage girls,” Gowdy railed.

“Secretary Clinton, at some point, ought to do a little self reflection.”
