A deranged racist in the UK spat in a nine-month-old baby’s face and yelled “white people shouldn’t breed” at her mom as they were out for a walk.
The attacker is named Rezzas Abdulla. The mom, hairdresser Rebecca Telford, was out walking with her daughter in a stroller on Chichester Road in South Shields when the 33-year-old racist attacker came up without warning.
Prosecutor Emma Dowling explained in court: “He lent into the pushchair and spat into the face of her daughter. “As he did so, he shouted or said ‘white people shouldn’t breed’ then walked
When the mom ran up to confront Abdulla, the angry man snarled at her to “shut the f*** up” and walked away.
Dowling told the court the saliva was “sprayed around” the baby’s face.
Rebecca tried to take a pic of the attacker as he walked away but was too shaken up.
Note that Abdulla has two previous convictions for race-hate attacks on white females. He was identified through CCTV footage.
Abdulla was later convicted of racially aggravated common assault after a trial he did not attend.
Rebecca told the police: “I am completely disgusted and distressed that a grown man, regardless of race or religion, would spit on a defenceless baby in a completely unprovoked attack. If he had just walked by I would not have even noticed him, there was no eye contact and no words had been exchanged. I had never seen him before.”
In testimony in court, Rebecca said that Layla-Jean, was taken to the doctor after the attack to make sure she had not caught a disease of some sort.
The judge explained to Abdulla: “There is something viscerally horrible and disgusting about spitting at someone, particularly in the face and to do so to a baby was particularly disgusting, let alone to make things even worse when your motivation for doing so is racial hatred.”
He also noted Abdulla’s previous convictions and told the man: “You have got a problem, it seems to me, with white women.”
The court heard after the attack last January, Abdulla spent four months receiving psychiatric treatment in a hospital, and he is still in outpatient treatment.
The judge also pointed out Abdulla’s poor mental health at the time of the attack “contributed” to the crime.
The judge sentenced the mentally imbalanced racist to eight months imprisonment, but the sentence was suspended for 18 months, with Abdulla required to receive rehabilitation and mental health treatment.
