Bill Maher Explains the Simple Way Trump Can Win Presidency

Maher 726

I don’t like Bill Maher, but I do respect him.  Although he is a die hard liberal, he is not a hypocrite and in fact, he calls out hypocrites in his own party.  For example, he calls out liberals who mare quick to criticize Christians but go out of their way to excuse radical behavior of Muslims.  He readily admits that he can’t understand defending people who want to kill us.

Maher, recently interviewed  Raheel Raza, a Canadian Muslim, who is also the President of the Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow, an anti-extremist Muslim organization.  At the beginning of the interview, Maher’s famous fight with Ben Affleck was brought up.  This caused Maher to explain his position in the debate:

“I’ve bent over backwards trying to have the other side when what I should be doing is going more voice to people like yourself.  You say, ‘I don’t need celebrities defending me, I need defense against people in my own religion who want to kill me.'”

Raza replied:

“Absolutely.  And this is going to add to that list, by the way. They see me on your show. Just so you know.”

“I think it is very important to note that you live in Canada.  And all the voices we hear like this are usually people who don’t live in their native lands because if they did they might be dead.” Maher said.

It was at this point that Maher, although criticizing Trump pointed out why he could be our next president:

“Donald Trump, I think is a very dangerous man with some very dangerous ideas, including his ides about Muslims.  I don’t think we should bar all Muslims from entering this country. We need Muslims in the fight against terrorism.”

“But I will say this, and I’ve said it before on this show, if Americans have to choose between a party that won’t even say the phrase ‘Islamic terrorism’ and Donald Trump, especially if there is another attack, they’ll choose Donald Trump. And then things are going to get even worse for Muslims. And so it is in their own best interest to come out on the side of principals that are liberal democratic Western principals.”

I still don’t like him, but I have to respect that he is a true believer and not a hypocrite who tries to score political points by altering reality.
