Brad Pitt Turns 180 Degrees On Second Amendment Support And Hosts Gun Control Awards

Hmm, I guess a pro second amendment stance is just too strong of a statement to make, in Hollywood, and maintain a high profile position and possibly a high profile career, because Brad Pitt has turned a complete 180 degrees from statements he’s made in the past.

Heres a FOXNews vid that quotes Pitt saying he only feels secure with guns.

And this Washington Times piece quotes him as a gun owner since kindergarten.

Hollywood’s Brad Pitt, born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri, said he’s not only a committed pro-Second Amendment rights American, but he’s also owned a gun since he was a kid.

“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” said Mr. Pitt, 50, The Independent reported. “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.”

I wonder what happened! He’s now hob-knobbing with such high lefty elites as Jane Fonda and Dustin Hoffman, to host a gun control event. Hmmm. Here’s the article in Breitbart:

On May 4, actor Brad Pitt (World War ZFight Club, Mr. and Mrs. Smith) will co-chair the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence gun control awards gala.

The gala will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel at Beverly Hills.

The Brady Campaign is advertising the gun control gala as the “Bear Awards,” and lists Pitt and Adam McKay as co-chairs. The cheapest tickets are $500, although non-attendees are free to make donations for gun control in any amount.

The “Bear Awards” are named after Jim “Bear” Brady, former press secretary for Ronald Reagan. The awards are dedicated to honoring those who fight for more gun control restrictions for law-abiding citizens throughout America.

Vietnam war protester Jane Fonda is serving on the Honorary Host Committee for the gun control gala. Los Angeles Eventful lists other Honorary Host Committee members as Aziz Ansari, Bryan Cranston, Robin Dearden, Jenna Fischer, Tom Hansen, Judy Hofflund, Dustin Hoffman,  Lee Kirk, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jason Segel.
