Granted sometimes the urge to look isn’t helped by lasses leaving little up to the imagination with plunging necklines and push up bras that send the mind into a frenzy. I mean i’m a straight lady, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a nice rack when I see one. Neuroscientist Larry Young has undertaken a study to provide us with an explanation for this very question and it’s not as creepy as we once thought. So basically this guy was being paid to study boobs? What a lad.

Young, a professor of psychiatry at Emory University, puts it all down to mens brain circuitry. Since the beginning of time, when a women breastfeeds she strengthens the bond between herself and her child. This has harnessed an ancient neural circuit that is directly relatable to couples because they use the same brain circuitry. So basically he’s saying that like babies love breasts, men love breasts, but there is more to it than that.

When a mothers nipples are stimulated during breastfeeding a neurochemical oxytocin floods her brain, this is known as the ‘love drug’ because it focuses all her care and devotion on her infant.

We all know that a woman’s nipples can be stimulated in more ways than one, yes now our attention turns to the lads. When ladies get sexually aroused by a bit of nipple play oxytocin is once again released and the ‘love drug’ kicks in, their attention is now drawn to the man.

Young is saying that the man’s brain has evolved so much that he subconsciously knows that by stimulating a woman’s breasts she will get turned on. Making the man instantly desirable to her and resulting in her need to “bond” with him.

Right, before you guys go running down the streets rubbing every breast in sight like a magic lamp hoping you’ll get a shag, don’t. I hate to break it to you but this won’t happen. The outcome will probably be a slap to the cheek or a kick in the nuts, either or.

So, if it’s true that a man’s fixation on your breasts are more about getting your attention than his own pleasure, then perhaps women have been looking at the circumstance all wrong, . . . or not.
