British Lawmaker Urges His Fellow Parliament members to Reverse Brexit Vote

Labour legislator David Lammy is the Ted Cruz of politics.  Only their countries are different.  Ted Cruz agreed to support the republican nominee whoever it was only because he thought he would be the one.  Lammy agreed to a vote on Brexit because he was sure it would lose.  Ted Cruz, having lost a lot of primaries tried to steal victory by stealing delegates won by Donald Trump.  Lammy also wants to overrule the voters and win through the backdoor.  They are brothers from different mothers.

Lammy claims that enough people voted for Brexit and now oppose it to make it a safe vote for the British Parliament.     Alan Renwick, deputy director of University College London’s Constitution Unit, a constitutional expert says it would be difficult but possible for Parliament to bypass the will of the people, but he also says that the likelihood they would is almost nil because of the political risks.

From The Blaze:

Online petitions – which take little more than a valid email address to sign up for and are easy to game – are very poor measures of popular opinion, but officials said Friday that the level of activity on a single petition was unprecedented.

Any petition which draws more than 100,000 names must be considered for debate by members of parliament, but that doesn’t necessarily mean much.

“It has passed the 100,000 mark for it to be debated in Parliament. All that means is that some MPs will say, ‘It’s a terrible shame,’ others will say, ‘Hallelujah’. Then that’s the end of it,” polling guru John Curtice said Saturday. “How many people voted in favor of Leave? Seventeen million. One million is chicken feed by comparison.”
