Federal Judge Ridicules Faithless Electors

Federal judge Wiley Daniel has ruled in the case of the Colorado faithless electors and he wasn’t polite about it.  Judge Daniel ruled that the democratic electors were trying to undo the election that just took place by democratic electors who are pledged to vote for Hillary Clinton.  The suit was filed by 2 Hillary electors in Colorado on 1st Amendment grounds, also stating that the Founding fathers did not want electors voting for candidates who won the state.  Trump’s lawyers pointed out that the electors weren’t on the ballot and therefore are not elected representatives of the people.

The so called “Hamilton Electors” say they are not done yet and that they plan to appeal this decision to a higher court in order to overturn not just this election but the electoral college altogether and to make California the state the selects every presidential election in perpetuity. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 2 million votes, but she won the California vote by over 3.4 million votes.  You do the math.

From Politico:

Two RNC sources familiar with the effort said the committee — with the assistance of state Republican parties and the Trump campaign — has been in touch with most of the GOP electors multiple times, and has concluded that only one is a risk to cast a vote against Trump on Dec. 19, when the Electoral College meets. …

“The state Republican parties in the states that went for Trump are heavily invested in this process,” said one of the RNC sources. “It’s a matter of personal pride for a state party chairman and a state party to ensure that all the electors that their people elected vote, and vote in the manner in which they’re supposed to.”

State party leaders, the RNC sources said, are in frequent communication with electors through phone calls and letters. They have identified multiple points of contact for the GOP electors and also monitor their social media, all to guard against the prospect of electors voting for someone other than Trump.

Ironically, after the dust settles, Hillary Clinton could lose more electors that Trump.

But more importantly, we need to find out who is bankrolling these lawsuits.
