Fiancee Dumps Guy, Kills Herself—Then It Gets Even Darker

Don Huckstep, 57, thought that the stars had finally aligned for him. He had met the woman of his dreams online, and the pair was all set to live happily ever after. However, Huckstep’s vision of a fairy tale would quickly unravel in bizarre and shocking fashion.

As Indianapolis Monthly explains, the woman was named Teri Deneka, and Huckstep was a little put off when she started acting distant towards him. He would receive an incredibly strange text from her that came out of the blue, and the devastated man was left searching for answers.

“I am not going to be around anymore. Please don’t call me or come by the house. Believe me I’m doing you a huge favor. Teri,” the message read.

He respected her wishes, but he was hoping that a little space would end up bringing them closer together in the long run.

“There was something about her. It’s hard to describe. I might have been sniffing magic dust. By January, I was head over heels for her,” he said.

Soon thereafter, Huckstep was puttering around the house when he received an unexpected visit from an old friend. He thought the friend was merely checking up on him, but he would instead receive some incredibly stunning news.

“I don’t know if she was constantly making notes or what, but she never did stumble and contradict anything she told me previously. I think about all she had going on in her life, and she seemed to keep it all straight,” Huckstep recalls.

Turns out Deneka had committed suicide, but not before brutally murdering her own mother and an old flame. The message he received from her just may have saved his life, as it’s quite clear she was about two dozen cards short of a full deck.

“You think you’re in love with someone, and you want to believe her. Now I look back, and I don’t believe anything she told me,” Huckstep said.
