Former NBA Star Dennis Rodman Charged With Hit and Run

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was charged on Monday with hit-and-run for a wrong-way-related crash on a Southern California freeway last July.

State prosecutors said Rodman’s SUV was moving north in a southbound carpool lane at approximately 12:30 a.m., which forced a sedan to swerve into the dividing wall in order to avoid an accident.

Rodman’s attorney, Paul Meyer, says that the incident happened because of a poorly lit exit ramp. He stated that Rodman avoided the accident without hitting the the car, then he stopped, got out of his vehicle and spoke to the other people.

Rodman was also charged with driving across a dividing section and not having a valid driver’s license. He was also charged with giving the police false information.

If convicted in January, Rodman could face two years in county.
