When Samantha Bee said what she said about Ivanka Trump, it was one of those sickening moments you can’t believe actually happened.
One of the current liberal narratives with the Trump family and the administration in general is if they express one emotion that they are totally devoid of another.
To put it simply, if Donald Trump said that apples are delicious liberals would be out in the streets saying that he hated pears and oranges. Hardly the case.
Liberals act like if people aren’t spending every waking breath talking about a particular issue that they either don’t care or they don’t agree with them. Not true at all. Maybe they just needed to run to Home Depot for twenty minutes and pick of a box of ten penny nails.
The media was not allowed to attend the Television Academy event where Samantha Bee was honored. It occurred just hours after she apologized to Ivanka Trump for calling her a “feckless c___.”
“Full Frontal,” the show Bee hosts, was recognized in LA on Thursday night as one of the most “meaningful and relevant” on the air. But members of the press were told late in the afternoon that there had been a change of plans. They were no longer allowed access to the reception room.
Bee’s controversial comments about Ivanka had resulted in “the need to limit access to tonight’s activities,” a representative of the Academy reported. The academy had earlier said that the controversy over Bee’s language would not affect the comedian’s accolade.
Bee had apologized to Ivanka and viewers on Thursday for using the obscenity to describe the president’s daughter the previous night on her show. She was ranting about the president’s immigration policies and she urged the First Daughter to speak to her father.
“You know, Ivanka, that’s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad’s immigration practices, you feckless c___,” she said after showing a photo of Ivanka and her son Theodore.
The White House slammed the comments as “vile and vicious.” Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer also led calls for Bee’s show to be canceled.
Spicer told TMZ that there were double standards. Roseanne’s show was axed after her racist tweets but Bee had yet to face disciplinary action.
Autotrader and State Farm both pulled ads in Bee’s late-night comedy show on Thursday.
“Thank you to those who reached out regarding our sponsorship of Full Frontal. The comments expressed by Samantha Bee were offensive and unacceptable and do not reflect the views of our company. As a result, we have suspended our sponsorship of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” Autotrader’s statement read.
State Farm also asked TBS to halt its advertising on the show.
