President Donald Trump is getting some advice from someone who has some special knowledge of immigration deals from years past.
Michael Reagan, the son of President Ronald Reagan, made a very salient point for Trump.
From Washington Examiner:
The late President Ronald Reagan’s son, Michael Reagan, warned President Trump that he must act now if he wants to receive funding for a border wall, comments that came just before it was announced Trump would not sign a stopgap funding measure that did not include the $5 billion he’s requested for a border wall.
“Hey @POTUS in 1986 my father made a deal with the Democrats Amnesty for Border Security my father is still waiting,” Michael Reagan tweeted Thursday. “U have no choice its now or never..#BuildTheWallNow.”

How did that amnesty from 1986 work out?
The number of illegal aliens has more than doubled since 1985 from 5 million to approximately 11 million, according to the Pew Research Center.
But the promised border security, as Michael Reagan notes, didn’t materialize as it had been promised.
Democrats signed off on a barrier/fencing/wall in 2006 and yet it still hasn’t been built.
And the reasons they don’t want it built now is that they want illegal aliens to come in and they don’t want to give Trump the success of the wall.
The House passed a bill with 5.7 billion for the wall in it but the Senate doesn’t have a deal on it yet so the government officially shut down.
