Prince Harry Left 1 Empty Seat at Wedding Reserved For Someone Very Special

Kirsters Baish| It’s never easy to lose a loved one, especially a parent. Joyous occasions may seem a little more solemn without that family member present. Prince Harry had to deal with just this problem today, at his own wedding. Price William and Price Harry lost their mother at the ages of 12 and 15 years old.

It has now been two decades since their mother tragically lost her life when her limousine crashed.

From Wikipedia:

On 31 August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, died as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris, France. Her companion, Dodi Fayed, and the driver of the Mercedes S280, Henri Paul, were pronounced dead at the scene.

During a BBC interview, Prince Harry hard a hard time explaining his situation, even though it has been twenty years.

“One of the hardest things for a parent to have to do is to tell your children that your other parent has died. How you deal with that, I don’t know,” he explained.

Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, dealt with the pain of not having his mother by his side on his wedding day as well. The royal family honored the late Princess Diana, and she was there in spirit.

During the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom left an open seat for her. If she were still alive today, she would have been nowhere else in the world today. She would have been right there, celebrating her beloved son’s marriage.

Liftable reports:

The engagement ring that Prince Harry gave Meghan Markle used two diamonds from his mother’s collection, further incorporating his mother’s legacy into his current life.

Markle’s classic bouquet featured some of the princess’ favorite flowers: forget-me-nots. The prince handpicked them the day before the wedding, adding another personal touch to the nuptials — and even the name of the flower is perfect.

The happy couple was eager to involve Lady Jane Fellowes, Princess Diana’s sister, in the ceremony. They had her read from Song of Solomon at St. George’s Chapel.

The bride honored a tradition that was started by Princess Diana, and carried on through Kate Middleton. The first bride to leave the word “obey” out of her vows was Princess Diana.

The newly married couple rode away from the church in Prince Harry’s mother’s Ascot Landau carriage.

Princess Diana was surely there in spirit, wishing her son a lifetime of happiness.
