The UK Experiences the Folly of No Background Checks on Refugees

Afghan-born Jamshid Piruz, a refugee living in the UK was arrested after he attacked two policemen with a hammer.  If that act isn’t bad enough, what was revealed about his past that has both citizens and politicians shaking their heads.  Before moving to the UK, Piruz had spent seven years in prison in Holland after murdering his tenant right after watching an ISIS beheading video. Just days before he attacked the policemen, he had been arrested for attacking a magistrate at Gatwick Airport.  He was released just a day or two later.

From The Conservative Tribune:

Tory Parliament member Henry Smith was understandably outraged.

“The country has got to have tougher border controls. Clearly, being a member of the EU did not protect us on this occasion,” he said according to the Daily Mail. “A very dangerous individual was allowed to travel here without us having prior knowledge that he’d committed murder in the Netherlands.

“It is staggering that someone could assault staff at Gatwick and then a couple of days later attack two police officers,” he continued. “Why was the information that he was a violent offender not available to us from our EU partners?”

“This is an appalling example of the kind of people who are getting into the country undetected.”

It’s examples like this that led to President-elect Donald Trump being voted into office. This is not a time for weaker border security.

This is especially scary when you consider the vast number of potential jihadists Obama has let into the country without background checks.
