Two Iowa Policemen Killed in Ambush Shooting

UPDATE: Police have identified a suspect by the name of  Scott Michael Greene.  He is described as age 46, as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.  His vehicle description is a blue 2011 Ford F-150 with Iowa license plate 780 YFR. The truck has a silver-colored topper with a ladder rack

Two metro Des Moines police officers have been shot and killed in what is being describes as an ambush shooting.  The incident began early Wednesday morning when an officer answered a call about gunshots fired near 70th and Aurora.  The first officer to arrive at the scene found an Urbandale officer, who had been shot in his patrol cat.  Some twenty minutes later, another officer from the Des Moines police department was found after having been shot.  Neither officer survived.

There are no suspects at this time but police have the description of the possible getaway car used by the assailant.  The police will be holding a press conference at 5:00 AM on the shootings.
