Uh-OH! Major Security Breech At American Airlines!

Two days before America celebrates Christmas, American Airlines announced that hundreds of clearance badges have gone missing, across the country. These badges allow employees to bypass security check points in the airports in which they work. They pretty much have free reign, and whom ever has these badges now has the same free reign at air ports across the country.

FOX23 reported: TULSA, Okla. — Quick facts:

  • American Airlines is stepping up security after the TSA reported missing clearance badges.
  • Employees will be subjected to random screening protocols.

American Airlines is stepping up security at both the terminal and maintenance base in Tulsa.

Employees have been put on notice that there will be random security checks during the holiday season and throughout 2016.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is reporting hundreds of clearance badges have gone missing at airports nationwide, especially at Delta Airlines’ Atlanta hub and American Airlines’ hub at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The badges allow employees to bypass security checkpoints at the airport and freely go in and out of secured areas to do their jobs.

A letter sent out to American Airlines employees states employees should be prepared for random screening protocols to make sure employees with special clearance to skip security are in compliance with their special privilege.

The airline will drop in on flight and ground crew members and even mechanics to make sure.

An airline spokesman said some employees with certain clearance at the Tulsa base will also be subject to these random searches and screenings to make sure everyone with a security clearance badge is who they say they are and are doing what they are supposed to be doing at the airport.

Members of Congress are drafting a bill that would make it a crime for an airport or airline employee to lose their badge and not report it to proper officials.
