The investigation into Russia’s involvement with the 2016 Presidential election has taken an interesting turn. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is known for squashing the free speech of conservatives on Facebook, has turned over data to Special Counsel Robert Mueller which contains details about Russian entities purchasing political ads on Facebook.
Facebook conducted an investigation and found that Russian operatives spent $100,000 on ads. The social media giant described these ads (which Facebook allowed, and took money for) as “divisive messages.” Between 2015 and 2017, Facebook allowed these ads to be on their platform without so much as a peep. Now that there is noise surrounding President Trump and Russia, Mark Zuckerberg seems to be jumping on the anti-Trump bandwagon. In total over this two-year period, 3,000 of these so-called “divisive messages” were allowed. At the time, Facebook took no action to deny the ads or prevent them from appearing on their platform. Conversely, Facebook has not offered to give back the $100,000 dollars they made on these ads or give the money away. Many Trump supporters and conservatives see this for the hypocrisy that it is.
The investigation which Special Counsel Robert Mueller is heading is now focusing on former Campaign Manager Paul Manafort, whose home has been raided by the FBI, and who many suspects may be indicted on various financial crimes. According to the Daily Caller:
“Former Trump campaign aides are telling The Daily Caller that they increasingly believe former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort will be indicted for crimes such as money laundering or tax evasion. One of the former campaign advisers has knowledge of the ongoing investigations into Manafort, a longtime Republican operative who joined the Trump campaign last March. Another former aide said that his knowledge of Manafort’s history of working with despots, coupled with news reports about Mueller’s investigation, led him to believe that an indictment of Manafort is becoming more likely.” The mainstream media has speculated that Special Counsel Robert Mueller will use the threat of prosecution for alleged crimes Paul Manafort may have committed to getting him to testify against President Trump. No one from the FBI has confirmed this and to date, Paul Manafort has not been charged with any crimes.
The recent involvement of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg brings into question whether or not he is considering a run for President of the United States in 2020. Though it is highly unlikely that this is the case, the more likely explanation is that Mark Zuckerberg is planning to work with Democrats and the political elite to mount a challenge against President Trump in 2020.
This latest hypocrisy and liberal bias displayed by Facebook should not be a shock to conservatives. On a continual basis Facebook allows racist organizations such as Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA to spread their violent rhetoric, yet subjects conservatives and those who oppose these hate groups to various forms of censorship. However, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a closet capitalist who will take money from anyone willing to enrich his social media company.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his minions of Hillary Clinton supporters know full well that President Trump, nor any of his campaign staff actively colluded with Russian operatives during the 2016 Presidential election. Still, the political elite and Democrats in Washington D.C. cannot accept the fact that the American people chose a leader over a criminal. This investigation is nothing more than a witch-hunt, and an attempt to subvert the democratic process. Democrats and political demagogues on the left felt entitled that Hillary Clinton would be the 45th President of the United States. When that didn’t materialize, the witch-hunt began to destroy President Trump and anyone connected to him.
No one from the FBI or Mueller’s office has commented on the information provided to them by Facebook, but even if the data Facebook submitted to the FBI is legitimate and unaltered, there is still no clear connection between these Russian operatives and the Trump Campaign.
