If the democratic party thought they had problems going into the convention, think about the problems they have coming out of it. A poll of Bernie voters found that only 21% of them are excited over the ticket of Clinton/Kaine. 55% say they are less enthusiastic about supporting the ticket, which is especially bad considering they did not support the ticket coming in.
First, they were locked out of the rules voting because they wanted to vote for eliminating the super delegates, then the DNC refused to give them the paperwork to fill out to nominate a vice presidential candidate, then denied their candidate a vote because they did not fill out the paperwork the DNC refused to give them. Pile that on top of what they now know was a rigged primary process and you have a whole lot of angry.
Even Mr. Sanders‘ own appeals on Monday and Tuesday haven’t closed the breach. More than a quarter of those who responded to the survey said he had “no influence” over their feelings toward the ticket now.
The network had tried to recruit a challenger to Sen. Tim Kaine, the vice presidential nominee, but said the DNC hindered them, refusing to turn over the paperwork that needed to filed. The network said it had someone willing to run as an alternative, but the person is refusing to be named now since the plans to force a floor showdown faltered.
If a large number of Bernie supporters either stay home, vote for Jill Stein or vote for Donald Trump, it could spell the end of Hillary Clinton, so the shabby treatment they are being given by the DNC is mind boggling.
