Furious Czech leader Milos Zeman ordered Brussels to send all failed asylum seekers to “empty places” in North Africa or “uninhabited Greek islands” to deter further mass migration to Europe. Seems like the Eastern European countries are showing back bone, and sadly I foresee, with the help of Russia, the rebirth of the Eastern bloc. Meaning the world will be right back where it was after World War 2.
“Of course I respect the cruelty of civil war in Syria, Iraq, and so on. But we do not speak about those people, we speak about economic migrants. “We are in Greece, and Greece has plenty of uninhabited islands, and big foreign debt. “So if you have ‘hotspots’ in Greek islands, this would be a sort of payment of foreign debt.”
Where were these voices in the beginning? Why has it taken so long to see what the rest of the West knew was going to happen? If Leadership had backbone then the EU wouldn’t be suffering from much of the problems we have now. If they are not real refugees fleeing war then they are illegal.German leader Angela Merkel has recently called for the roll-out of deals similar to the one Brussels has with Turkey – whereby all economic migrants are sent back across the Aegean, to North African countries like Egypt. She is trying to save what is left of her political career by outlining this new policy. To little to late, now it will cost a small fortune to resolve this situation and how long is anyone’s guess. What do you think?
