It seems plain speak is catching on. This Florida sheriff lays it on the line for folks in his county. The police can’t be everywhere all the time. And its just about time we started to put political correctness behind us and open our eyes to what is under our noses.

Crooks&Liars: A sheriff is calling on everyday citizens to take up arms and become the first line of defense in an active shooter scenario, because our gun culture has made this increasingly more likely. The Sheriff of Brevard County, the adjacent county to family fun places like Disney World, wants everyone who can be armed, to be strapped and ready in case of emergency. What’s most baffling to me is why would any law enforcement affiliate, especially a sheriff, want their citizens to be out-gunning the cops? It simply makes no sense.

Unless these people are being handsomely compensated by someone, namely the NRA-ILA, which would certainly clear up a few matters. So wouldn’t you know it, Sheriff Ivey has made a name for himself with that very organization. The NRA-ILA (the legislative arm of the NRA) has noticed his fear-mongering warnings and so kindly, they passed it on to their members.

If we are looking for a connection to the actual lawmakers in Florida, we need to look no further than Matt Gaetz, whose name appears at the top of a search along with Ivey, like peanut butter to his jelly. In September, the Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives filed a bill to allow citizens to open carry weapons just like the AR-15s that were used in the San Bernardino and Sandy Hook massacres. Here’s a photo op of both Gaetz and Sheriff Ivey when the two were working in tandem to pass this open carry insanity.

Kilmeade displays a warning graphic from former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, saying that it’s dangerous to have more people armed, especially when most won’t be very well trained, and it would exacerbate the mayhem of an active shooter scenario. I suspect the difference between Kelly and Ivey is the direct link to the NRA and the disparity of NYC demographics versus Central Florida. It also stems from Kelly not wanting every New Yorker running around armed and half-cocked, for obvious reasons.

Sheriff Ivey is as irresponsible and as crooked as they come. He’s working together with the NRA’s political slaves, the GOP, to enact and enforce laws that will only benefit the merchants of death. Not one proposed law has helped a single citizen remain any safer; actually it’s quite the contrary. Rational people can see that this reckless, profit-driven behavior leads to nothing but more violence and death.
