Rio Olympics, Experts Say, Danger is Lurking In Every Grain Of Sand

Well, the Olympic Games in Rio will be starting later this week, and as far as I can see it will be a comedy of errors of  epic proportion. From the polluted water; where all in aquatics are told to keep their heads out of, to collapsed facilities that accommodations are not yet ready for athletes. There has already been athletes robbed of their belongings from the roaming packs of gangs, I could go on but I’ll leave it to all of you to draw your own conclusions.

According to the score:

The first results of the study published over a year ago showed viral levels at up to 1.7 million times what would be considered worrisome in the United States or Europe. At those concentrations, swimmers and athletes who ingest just three teaspoons of water are almost certain to be infected with viruses that can cause stomach and respiratory illnesses and more rarely heart and brain inflammation – although whether they actually fall ill depends on a series of factors including the strength of the individual’s immune system.

I for one am looking forward to the Olympics for the first time in years, not to watch the games for what they are or were to be, but to see what will go wrong. I have not even brought the thought of terrorism to the conversation yet. What do you say?
