A prominent retailer has announced the closure of nine outlets in four major cities throughout the United States.

Target announced on Tuesday that it would close one store in New York City, two in Seattle, three in the San Francisco Bay Area, and three in Portland.

Target stated that the decision to close the stores was made due to the serious threat of organized crime in particular locations.

“We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” Target said in a statement.

Target recognized the importance of its businesses in many communities but stated that safety must come first.

“We know that our stores serve an important role in their communities, but we can only be successful if the working and shopping environment is safe for all,” the statement said.

According to the CNBC story, Target has been taking initiatives to reduce crime in its stores, such as placing some products in locked cases, hiring more security guards, and training employees on how to de-escalate a crisis.

Despite these efforts, Target has been unable to keep up with the significant surge in crime in certain sections of the country.

“Despite our efforts, unfortunately, we continue to face fundamental challenges to operating these stores safely and successfully,” Target’s statement said.

The report, however, fails to disclose that the four cities in question — New York, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle — are all left-wing towns known for their crime problems.

Anyone who has followed the news in recent years is aware of the troubles that each of these places has had with crime, owing in large part to their leaders’ ridiculous “soft on crime” policies.

If you asked Americans which four cities they felt would be on the list, I’m sure many, if not the majority, would choose these four.

Consider San Francisco, where, despite a population of hippie liberals who would gladly shop at Whole Foods, the retailer was forced to close its main location downtown after only one year of operation.

Consider Seattle, which attracted national and worldwide attention after violent radicals seized a section of the city and called it the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.”

The only thing shocking about this report is that Chicago is not on it.

For example, anyone familiar with recent events in Chicago would know that Walmart was forced to close many of its locations due to the city’s severe crime concerns.

As a result of their government’s inability to address the issue of crime, millions of Americans will be denied access to inexpensive goods and services when Target closes.

It appears that these so-called “compassionate” measures are not so compassionate to millions of law-abiding Americans.
