A West Texas school district has fired a teacher who said online that she was ‘almost to the point’ of supporting racial segregation after watching video of a white officer wrestling a black bikini-clad teenager to the ground in Mckinney.
‘I’m just going to just go ahead and say it…the blacks are the ones causing the problems and this “racial tension,” fourth-grade teacher Karen Fitzgibbons wrote in the since-deleted Facebook post on Wednesday.
‘I guess that’s what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education. I’m sure their parents are just as guilty for not knowing what their kids were doing; or knew and didn’t care.’
She then went on to suggest she promoted racial segregation and said that the antiquated treatment of blacks in the 50s and 60s should be in place today, reports SF Gate.
‘I’m almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone. Maybe the 50s and 60s were really on to [sic] something. Now, let the bashing of my true and honest opinion begin…GO! #imnotracist #imsickofthemcausingtrouble #itwasagatedcommunity,’ continued the post.
The post was in response to Officer Eric Casebolt’s resignation after video footage showed him waving his gun and restraining girl, 15, who was wearing bikini at a pool party.
