[WATCH] High School Assistant Principal Fired After Appearing in THIS NSFW Hip Hop Video
Appearing in a hip-hop music video is generally not a good move if you want to maintain your squeaky-clean image. Unfortunately, nobody told that to Esther Adler-O’Keefe, who until recently, served as assistant principal of Southampton High School.
Adler-O’Keefe was fired for her involvement in rapper J.R. and singer Trey Songz’s unsurprisingly raunchy music video called, “Best Friend.”
After the video started circulating – it’s currently at over 1.5 million views on YouTube – school superintendent Dr. Scott Farina said, “This is not representative of who we are as a district, nor of our students and staff.”
In her defense, Adler-O’Keefe’s role was completely G-rated – no smoking, no drinking, no swearing, and most importantly, no twerking. In fact, in the music video’s “story,” she plays a naïve woman who’s upscale house is turned into a debauched party pad while she’s on vacation. This scenario isn’t too different from her real-life. Adler-O’Keefe innocently claims that she was “completely unaware of the content, lyrics, and title of the video and song.”
That might be true, but she must have had an idea when they shot the final scene of the video, where her character arrives home to discover the ultimate party hangover. You’d think someone who works at a school could connect the dots.
Adler-O’Keefe will no longer serve as assistant principal of Southampton High but has been re-assigned in another capacity.
