Many people don’t know it, but the phrase liberals hate, “In God We Trust”, was first seen on our money during the Civil War.
In fact, as a way to show the nation that God is our Lord, Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase instructed James Pollock, Director of the Mint at Philadelphia, to prepare a motto. He said in a letter dated November 20, 1861:
“Dear Sir: No nation can be strong except in the strength of God, or safe except in His defense. The trust of our people in God should be declared on our national coins.
You will cause a device to be prepared without unnecessary delay with a motto expressing in the fewest and tersest words possible this national recognition.
It’s a phrase that liberals hate, but it’s a phrase that we need to stand up and represent. And now Chuck Norris is giving us even more opportunity to stand up for what’s right and show the nation that it’s in God whom we trust. Just when I thought Chuck Norris couldn’t get any cooler, he went and posted this on his Facebook.
