At least 842 people have already been killed as Matthew swept through Haiti, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.”The southern peninsula has been devastated,” said US Navy Rear Adm. Cedric Pringle, commander of the Joint Task Force Matthew, after conducting an aerial tour of the destruction.
About 350 military personnel will be on the ground in Haiti by Saturday, Pringle said Friday in a briefing from Port-au-Prince. He’s in the Haitian capital to kick start humanitarian and disaster relief assistance to the country. Ships from the Netherlands, France and possibly from the United Kingdom will also help, he said.

“The priority is to get food and water to these people. Of course aid agencies like us had supplies pre-positioned before the storm, but there’s only so much you can do in a storm this size, and as the number of centers has more than doubled, the need has risen. I feel the problem in helping these fine people is who can you trust to donate money to?(Say no to the Clinton Foundation)they had done enough in the last catastrophe.Meaning, just about every organization skims the better part of the money from the top, and by the time it gets to the Haitian government, there is more skimming to the point of barely anything reaches the needy. What is more to say, What do you think?
