But one British family’s neighbors took things to the next level by constantly driving onto their property and destroying their fence. The family had to take drastic measures to protect their property by creating a concrete fence.
One member of the family shared their story on Reddit, explaining how their neighbor ran over their fence with a truck full of wood. The family patriarch then decided to take definitive action by building a concrete fence to stop the neighbors from ever doing that again.
The family lived in a small private neighborhood, surrounded by a road from two sides. They had let their neighbors use one square meter of their land so that they could use the road safely without damaging the family’s property. However, the family soon found out that the neighbors had purposely run over the fence. That’s when the family decided to fight back.
The person’s father, a police officer, dug into the property and filled the disputed corner of the lot with rock-filled barrels, but it didn’t stop the neighbors from running over the fence for an entire year. That’s when the father decided to take things to the next level.
He cut some wood to use as a mold, bought cement, sand, and metal poles, and with his son, cemented the whole part of the land and placed some lovely flowers on top. This way, when the neighbors hit the concrete, they could smell the family’s flowers of victory/defeat.
After a short period of time, eight neighbors wrecked their cars on the concrete fence, but none showed up at the police officer’s home to complain. The family had found a creative way to make the neighbors stop crashing into their property, avoiding the annoying problem and putting it to rest. Now the neighbors have to deal with the damage to their cars if they want to navigate the area and make the property their shortcut.
The family’s experience highlights the importance of maintaining good relationships with neighbors and avoiding conflicts. In this case, the neighbors had no regard for their neighbors’ property and refused to help with the maintenance of the road. It’s essential to handle disputes respectfully and find amicable solutions.
