The day of progressive victory ought to have been Tuesday.
In a federal courtroom in Miami, former President Donald Trump was detained and accused of 37 false offenses.
However, following the hearing, something amusing occurred. A self-assured, beaming Trump went out and socialized at Versailles, a well-known Cuban restaurant, rather than skulking away in shame like a guilty reprobate.
A day before his 77th birthday on Wednesday, Trump was greeted by jubilant supporters with an early chorus of “Happy Birthday.”
They also joined him in prayer, and then Trump continued by serving dinner to everyone at the café.
“The folks in the control room, I don’t need to see any more of that,” Tapper said. “He’s trying to turn this, he’s trying to turn it into a spectacle and to a campaign ad. That’s enough of that. We’ve seen it already.”

Hilarious.
Despite being targeted by partisan special counsel Jack Smith, Trump didn’t seem perturbed. Tapper was the one who became so alarmed that he blatantly asked that the live feed be immediately edited.
Many defendants would have played it safe when faced with allegations from an unjust Justice Department that may land them in prison for the rest of their lives.
Trump might have quickly returned home to take cover and wallow in self-pity.
But Trump doesn’t work that way.
Trump made a strong statement with his post-indictment trip. A man who is aware that he is being persecuted for political reasons and anticipates being vindicated would display strength by going out among the populace.
That assurance in turn motivates Trump’s followers to show up and support his reelection campaign.
Trump might utilize the occasion as a talking point for his campaign, as Tapper correctly noted. Republicans in general believe the evidence against Trump is purely political.
Prior to and following the federal indictment’s announcement, a CBS News/YouGov poll of probable GOP primary voters found that 61% stated that any charges brought against Trump would not change their opinion of him. In fact, 14% said that the indictments made them like Trump more.
Social media went crazy with Tapper’s anguished appearance.

According to Daily Beast media reporter Justin Baragona, Nicolle Wallace of MSNBC made a similar remark to stop the live video stream showing how popular Trump is with the public.
“That’s the picture over your brilliant words, we don’t need to see that anymore, we know where he is,” Wallace said, as the camera cut away from Trump interacting with supporters.

These journalists may be experiencing memories of 2016 when CNN and other traditional media sources relentlessly covered Trump. To the perpetual surprise of those publications, Trump’s support increased as more voters saw and heard him. The mainstream media doesn’t want to repeat that error.
The prepared narrative for the day didn’t fit seeing Trump surrounded by the enthused public, so these anchors tried to act like it wasn’t happening.
Instead of enabling eyewitnesses to unfiltered reality to come to their own judgments, the establishment media tries to tell you what to think.
