Ryan Seacrest, a television personality, has stated that Pat Sajak has chosen him to take over as host of the popular game show “Wheel of Fortune.”
On Tuesday, Seacrest tweeted that he felt “truly humbled to be following in the legendary Pat Sajak’s footsteps.”
“I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna [White] on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them,” he added.
“I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White,” Seacrest concluded.
After the New York Times announced on Tuesday that 48-year-old media personality Ryan Seacrest would be the next presenter of the game show in 2024, speculation about the position increased.
On Monday, it was reported that Vanna White, Sajak’s longstanding co-host, was interested in staying on board but was currently negotiating a new deal to remain with the program. According to the NYT, she is under contract for a another year.

After Sajak announced he was departing the show earlier this month, speculation focused on Seacrest, White, and even Whoopi Goldberg as potential replacements.
“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak tweeted on June 12.
“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months,” he added. “Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Previous shows that Seacrest presented include “American Idol,” “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’Eve,” and the podcast “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.”
White, who had screen time with Sajak for the first time in 1982, used social media in the wake of the actor’s news to thank him for all the seasons they had together.
