A waitress in Texas extended a small act of kindness for a couple who recently lost their baby by paying for their bill.
Kayla Lane had been waiting tables at the West Side Café in Fort Worth, Texas when she met Shaun and Debbie Riddle.
The Riddles were surprised that the waitress remembered their faces as they had not been to the restaurant in a while.
“I remember people,” Lane said. “I’m really good at remembering people.”
“They kind of looked at each other and were very silent,” Lane recalled.
The Riddles informed her that she had died a month earlier.
“We said, ‘Well, she passed away 4 weeks ago,’” said Shaun.
According to CBS, the child passed away at 9 weeks old after she failed to wake up from a nap.
“I’m like, ‘Oh gosh, I made them remember!’ even though it’s going through their minds all day, every day,” Lane said.
When their meal ended, Lane decided to take matters into her own hands and show them an act of kindness.
