South Carolina House Votes to Ban Sharia Law

The South Carolina House has voted 68-42 to ban Sharia law being used in the courts.  Some defendants use the Sharia defense in courts to excuse their crimes and some have gotten away with it where liberal judges are in charge.  This bill when fully enacted would make that illegal.  The bill still has to be passed by the Senate and then on to the desk of Nikki Haley for signing.

The bill says:

“A bill to amend the code of laws of South Carolina … so as to prevent a court or other enforcement authority from enforcing foreign law including, but not limited to, Sharia Law in this state from a forum outside of the United States or its territories under certain circumstances.”

The bill was sponsored by Rep Chip Limehouse and was the brainchild of Tea Party groups.  Since Sharia Law makes slaves out of women, one has to wonder why democrats are opposed to this bill.  This proves that liberals could care less about women’s rights.  For instance, under Sharia Law, if a woman is raped she can be put to death by stoning.  Some would consider that a “War Against Women.”  Like the old saying goes, “If something is truly evil, the liberals are for it.”

Sharia Law considers women and non Muslims as being inferior beings and male Muslims are considered superior.  Limehouse said:

“This goes to demonstrate that the South Carolina House of Representatives is committed to preserving and protecting the American way of life here in South Carolina.”

“Sharia Law has been used as a defense in American courtrooms.  We are working towards making that defense not an option for radical extremists from any country.”

“In South Carolina, we’ve had cases where people have tried to use [the rules of] Sharia Law as a defense, and we are speaking very clearly from the South Carolina House.  Shariah Law can not and will not be used as a legal defense in the state of South Carolina.”

South Carolina could be the third state to outlaw Sharia Law, behind Texas and Utah.
