Parents Horrified With What Kids Find Inside Candy Egg Toy

A couple of young boys were playing along the side of a road in Belfast when they discovered a small plastic egg, usually seen around Easter, hidden underneath a hedge.

According to the U.K. Daily Star, the boys retrieved the Kinder Surprise egg and cracked it open, expecting to find the typical cheap toy contained inside the plastic egg encased in chocolatey goodness.

Instead, they found a small baggie containing a white powder, which thankfully they turned over to their parents, who in turn passed it along to the local police.

That white powder turned out to be the Class A drug methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth or ice, an incredibly dangerous concoction of chemicals that could have proven deadly if the boys had ingested it.

“On Sunday night, I was contacted by a gentleman whose nephew had found a Kinder egg hidden in a hedge in the Edenmore Road area of Limavady,” reported Alan Robinson, a member of the Limavady city council. “When the child opened the plastic section, hidden within was a small sealed plastic bag containing a white powder.”

“Having passed the contents to the police, the family have told me that they have informed them that it contained an illegal drug,” he continued, noting how lucky the boys were to have not eaten the toxic drug. “As a father of a child, I know how enticing Kinder eggs and their contents are to children.”

Police noted that the amount of the drug was small, but have nevertheless opened a probe into how the drugs ended up in the child’s egg on the side of the road.
