A twelve year old boy was arrested in connection with a plot to kill policemen in Baton Rouge. His name cannot be released due to his age. He has been charged with simple burglary and theft of a firearm. He and two others stole 8 handguns and a BB rifle from a pawn shop last Saturday. Antonio Thomas, 17, and Malik Bridgewater, 20, were the other two who were arrested in the plot. Trashone Coats, was charged for possession of one of the guns but not in the burglary.
Police captured Thomas at the scene and he admitted that they stole the guns to use in the assassination of police officers. The trio stole the guns and were planning on finding ammunition to use in their plot. The capture of Thomas led to the arrests of the other three and prevented the plot from being carried out.
The involvement of the twelve year old is very troubling. Young kids are easily influenced and do not fear the consequences that more mature men would. Also, even if convicted of murder, a child that age will usually be released by age 18. Drug dealers have recruited young boys for years for that very reason.
A fifth suspect has never been found and it is believed that he has the two weapons that were never recovered.
Police blamed the credible threat as the reason they cracked down so hard on demonstrators, arresting 150 of them. The Baton Rouge police have been criticized by the lapdog press over the arrests. For some strange reason, these shootings will make police more careful when confronted. That’s just idiotic. These shootings will have police on edge and they will and should display more discretion in dangerous situations. Let’s face it, these guys want to go home the same as we do.
What I find to be scary is that many liberals seem to want to encourage these type of incidents for political purposes.
