FBI Arrests Five Afghans Believed to Be Involved in NY and NJ Bombings

The FBI arrested five Afghans driving on the Belt Parkway, underneath the Verrazano Narrows Bridge as they were in a car that the FBI suspected was involved in the bombings in NY and NJ.  No names have been released and no confirmation that any of the five were actually involved, but several media outlets say sources have told them the arrests are related to the bombings.

The suspects has a stash of weapons in their car and were picked up shortly after three pipe bombs and and two other devices were found inside a railroad depot in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  It is not known if there is any connection and the FBI is playing it close to the vest.

No charges have been filed against those individual at the time this article was written.

The involvement of Afghans greatly increase the odds the attacks were an act of Islamic extremism.
