The Cornell HS cheerleaders not only took a knee but they did it on the night the school was honoring veterans. VFW Color Guard performed at Cornell High School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania on the night in question and many people mostly veterans were quite upset. WWII Army veteran Danny Larocco is one of them.
“I was 16 when I enlisted, fighting Japanese. To see them do that and disgrace Coraopolis and that school, it made me sick.”
The cheerleaders had the full support of the school, whom they informed of their plans in advance.
