An asylum-seeker living in Bückeburg in Germany admitted to having forced a 13-year-old girl to have sex. But in court, the 27-year-old man asserts his innocence and claims, according to a report by the Schaumburg News, that he did not know that his victim was only 13 years old.
“I thought she was 18 or 19. She looked grown-up,” said the asylum seeker to the trial in front of the district court.
He and the 13-year-old had previously met several times and had met on the sidelines of a project of the local refugee relief.
By his own account, the 27-year-old just wanted to speak German with the girl to learn the language. But quickly the true intentions of the man came to light. “My daughter said that he held her and locked the door,” the girl’s mother is quoted by the Schaumburg News. “He forced her.” The student should have previously said: “No, I do not want that.”
