Alabama Mayor Starts GoFundMe Page to Send Protesters to Tijuana

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon posted on his Facebook page that he had started a GoFundMe page in order to raise money to send celebrity Trump protesters to Tijuana, Mexico.

Here is the text:

To help provide financial assistance to all those celebrities, athletes and any other elitist who stated they would leave the country if Donald Trump won. Our goal is to be able to fund an infinite number of bus tickets to Tijuana, Mexico so they might escape the new Trump era and start a new life for themselves in a third world country so that they might gain a little perspective. Our goal is their happiness so what I would like to say to them is don’t let the screen door hit you.
Help spread the word!
So far the fund has raised $525 of the 10 million dollar goal.

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon posted a message on his Facebook page announcing the creation of a GoFundMe page to raise money to purchase bus tickets for “celebrities, athletes and other high-minded elitists who are traumatized by the new Trump era.”

The tickets will take the protesting celebrities to Tijuana, Mexico, and not Canada, a destination mentioned by many, Kennon said. Even before the election, celebrities ranging from Miley Cyrus and Cher to Barbra Streisand and director Spike Lee said they’d exit the US if the Republican nominee defeated Hillary Clinton.

Kennon’s GoFundMe page is appropriately titled “Don’t Let the Screen Door Hit You.” Fourteen donors have contributed $230 – a far cry from Kennon’s $10 million goal – in the past two days.
