Body camera footage of a convicted murderer taunting police at the scene of his crime has been released by police in the United Kingdom.

According to the Daily Mail, Marek Hecko was sentenced to at least 26 years in prison earlier this month for the murder of 44-year-old Adrian Ellingford.

Essex police also released bodycam footage of Hecko confronting an officer outside the house where he killed Ellingford in July.

Hecko, 26, was so brazen that he boasted about knowing about the murder hours after it occurred — despite not providing a full confession.

“I know what happened. I know the people involved,” he told the officer. “I know what happened, and you need me to know — figure it out — what happened.”

“If you don’t have me, you don’t know what happened.”

When the officer asked for his name, he replied, “I’m not going to tell you my name. I don’t give a f***.”

Hecko can be seen in the video taking swigs from a bottle of brandy, which may have given him his unwarranted confidence.

Hecko also told authorities that they would be unable to prove his involvement in the murder.

“You’re going to think about me, but it’s not going to be me because there’s no proof.”

“So you think something’s happened to a male in this address?” the officer asked.

“No, I know what happened,” Hecko said. “I know everything.”

“This city is mine,” he boasted.

Hecko was apprehended near the end of the body cam footage. Officers urged him to cooperate as they informed him that he was being arrested.

Hecko broke into Ellingford’s Chelmsford home before the killing, and Hecko’s DNA was found on the handle of a knife used to stab the victim in the back.

According to the Daily Mail, Hecko was motivated by Ellingford’s involvement with his former romantic partner.

Hecko was described as a stalker by Judge Christopher Morgan prior to his sentencing, recounting how he bombarded his former girlfriend with lengthy text messages and photos before killing Ellingford.

He must serve 26 years of his sentence before he can be considered for release.
