In our politically correct society, that in recent years has frowned upon using the words “Merry Christmas”, the latest advertisement from retail giant Amazon comes as a surprise. The video contains two older men, one a Muslim imam and the other a Christian priest.
The two men are clearly enjoying each other’s company. They have friendly banter and converse about their hurting knees. After their conversation, they go about their respective days.
Suddenly the friends get the same idea: to send the other knee pads for use during their prayer time. Of course, both men use Amazon to order them from.
The commercial spot ends with the two men receiving their knee pads, putting them on, and kneeling in their places of worship and praying.
This commercial is a refreshing and welcome change, if not unexpected, change in advertising strategy from a retail company.
