Yes, to be young and in college, not a care of personal obligation, all that time to spend saving the world, and making everything right for your fellow man. Idealism which is akin to the village idiot continues to thrive in the young. How easy it is to think a slogan, paint it on a canvas, put it up for display and then feel good about yourself. True Liberalism, it’s the thought that counts, not the results.
A student art installation at Temple University curiously reads, “White People. Do Something,” and has provoked polarizing reactions across social media.
The Tyler School of Art at Temple University took to their Twitter account to brag about the art installation, which is located on a central quad at the Philadelphia-based institution. Although the project’s meaning remains unclear, it hasn’t stopped community members and internet commentators from speculating about the artist’s motivation. The “sculpture” was created by graduate art student Kara Springer and has provoked an assortment of confusion, anger, and praise across social media.
I wonder if the “artist” Ms. Springer that people of any color or persuasion cannot make things better for others if the recipient does not want to help themselves. Living the life of a victim should not be a career choice, although Hillary Clinton is making is doing well at it. Never-the-less, in the United States, race is big business and many are prospering financially in many ways, on the guilt that has been ingrained into the minds of the young. Some day, hopefully soon, when they have to pay back their student loans that others of color have had dismissed, they will come to their senses, and understand each person is responsible for their own plight in life, and not the fault of others. What do you think?
