Artist Makes Some Of The Most Realistic 3D Paintings You’ll Ever See

Singapore based artist Keng Lye has been fooling people ever since he started displaying his very realistic art. You’d think that he’s taking pictures of fish that he has trapped in bowls but it’s quite the contrary. You see, all of the animals he paints are completely fake. My first question is how are they 3-D and second how do you paint in water? After watching his video (posted below), my jaw hit the floor. Lye actually pours a clear resin into a bowl and paints a layer. He lets it dry and pours another slight layer of resin. He then paints that layer and so on and so on until he has a 3-D painting. It’s a little difficult to wrap your head around without seeing. Take a look at these incredible works of art and appreciate the amount of work and time that went into these. Once you get to the bottom be sure to watch the video of this incredible process.

It looks like a few fish swimming inside a bowl.

The detail is AMAZING.

I can’t get over how real they look, like they will start swimming at any second.

Even up close you would be hard pressed to be sure if the fish is fake based on a picture.

The octopus painting has to be the best in my opinion.
