Ben Carson Chooses “Citizen Statesman,” Not VP

As Trump still has not chosen a VP/running mate, the possibilities are almost endless and speculation runs wild. One candidate you can cross off the list, at least for now, is Ben Carson, or can you?

Tonight on Hannity, Dr. Ben Carson clarified his remarks to a Washington Post reporter about Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick list.

Carson said that a comment he made about who was on the list was taken out of context and that he simply didn’t want to say who was on the list and who was off.

He also said that he has no interest in being vice president, telling Sean Hannity that he wasn’t interested in “a government position.”

“I think there is still a place for citizen statesman,” Carson said. “You know, there are a lot of things that need to be talked about in our society and written about in an unfiltered way.”

Hannity suggested that a natural position for Carson would be heading the Department of Health and Human Services and implementing health savings accounts to replace Obamacare. Carson said that he’d be “very happy to help with that process.”

“I’ve already outlined and had it analyzed…the program on how to do this,” Carson said. “We can do this. We have the money and we have the ability. So it can definitely be done.”

Hannity said that he would take Carson’s answer as a “maybe.”
