While Daisy’s been recovering from back surgery, I’ve been doing the Chicks on the Right show with various guest-hosts, one of whom has his own Saturday show called The Gun Guy with Guy Relford. Guy co-hosted the show with me this past Monday and Tuesday, and during the breaks we got to talking about email and texting and credit card scammers.  He told me about one ploy that a scammer tried to use on him, whereby they texted him to inquire about gun training classes.  They exchanged a few messages back and forth, and Guy explained his schedule and his pricing, and then the scammer was ready to pounce.

He gave Guy a credit card number, and here’s what happened next.

Yyyyyyeah. This is what they do.  They get gullible people to run the charge through, and it GOES THROUGH, so as a vendor, you’re thinking you just got paid $5500.  But then what happens is that the card is reported as stolen, and the charges are reversed, and you’re out the $5500 PLUS the $3500 in cash you give to the “private bus driver.”
