BREAKING: Facebook Removes President Trump’s Post Warning Of Flu Season

Facebook removed a post Tuesday from President Trump claiming that the flu is more lethal than COVID-19.

“Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu,” he wrote in the post. “Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!” the President tweeted.

CNN first reported the takedown. Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone confirmed the company removed the post for breaking its rules on “COVID-19 misinformation.”

The same message was posted on Twitter. The platform placed a label on the tweet warning that it violated rules about spreading coronavirus misinformation. The post is still viewable, but cannot be interacted with. The label was only appended three hours after Trump’s initial tweet.

Trump returned to the White House Monday night after spending the weekend at Walter Reed National Medical Center following a positive coronavirus diagnosis.
