Liberals in California find themselves in a quandary over an illegal alien who was free because Kern County refused a detainer by ICE and released a man who then set fire to the Sequoia National Forest, costing the government 61 million dollars and badly damaging a large number of the massive trees. Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos, who has already been deported five times in the last four years after being convicted of driving without a license, attempted burglary and felony weapons charges.
While the bleeding hearts won a victory by allowing a felon to walk free (No, not Hillary) but their fellow travelers, the tree huggers suffered a massive defeat by heavy damage done to their favorite trees to hug. To top it off, Garcia-Avalos was sentenced to only 13 months in prison and may not be deported if he serves his time in a sanctuary city.It would pit liberal vs liberal and then who ion the hell do you root for?
Federal agents now say they will kick Garcia out of the country once he serves his latest sentence, but the damage has already been done.
At a point along State Highway 155 through the Sequoia National Forest, the smell of cedar gives way to the stench of soot. Ash-blackened trees above and below the roadway show the path of the blaze.
Investigators determined that the spark came from a Nissan Maxima that Garcia was driving over a rough dirt trail near Cedar Creek. Garcia tried to drive over a berm and hit a tree. The hot muffler on his car ignited grass parched by years of drought, investigators said in an account filed in federal court.
